Pronomen, och naturligtvis book talk :)

Under vecka 6 fortsätter vi att repeterar pronomen genom att på måndag läsa om och träna possessiva och demonstrativa pronomen och på tisdag fortsätta med relativa pronomen. Vi tränar med hjälp av www.grammarwise.org, där ni först läser informationen och sedan gör quizet och visar mig resultatet.

På måndag kommer vi även att samlas i läsgrupperna för att diskutera veckans ämne som är

Describe the antagonist(s) in the book. Try and explain their actions, their reasoning and their path through life.

Is the novel similar to/does the novel remind you of a book you have previously read or a film you have seen. If so, in what way?

Det är fortfarande långt tid kvar tills dead-line för er uppsats, men använd er tid väl och ha i åtanke att vår on-line kurs från British Council börjar den 22/2. Det innebär att ni efter det kommer att få mycket mindre/ingen tid till att läsa och skriva i skolan.

Snart går årets The Big Challenge av stapeln. Jag vill att ni börjar fundera över om ni önskar att ta del av tävlingen i år.

Book review

In this post you'll find the instructions for your forthcoming book review. It is very important that you answer all the questions! Also, if you are aiming for the higher grades, make sure to answer the star marked questions as well.

When you are writing, revise your text at times to make sure everything makes sense and is correctly written. You might want to change words or phrases to improve the text. Once you are finished writing, proof read your text before you hand it in. You might also want to ask a friend to proo f read your text. Instructions for revision and proof reading can be found below. Use the checklist!

Novels

After Christmas we'll begin reading this years novels. On your first day back in school you'll get to choose the book you'll read, but I would like for you to already take a look at the novels that's on offer, and think about which one you'll pick.
There is a limited amount of copies of each book, so you might have to think about a second option as well!
Click on the links below to read a review on each book.

Student's recommendations

During the autumn the pupils in year 6 have been working with individual exercises in English, which will improve their skills. In their work they have come across various websites which they would like to recommend to others.

  • Alfred and Hampus recommend Elevspel.se where you can practise words, phrases and grammar. Did you know that your teacher has created some games here? (Engelska - plural and Oregelbundna verb)
  • Jakob H and Anders are really fond of Lyricstraining where you can practise vocabulary and spelling at the same time as you are listening to really good music.
  • Hannes often practises his weekly words with the help of Glosor.eu which is also available in app store. Create your own account and type in the words. If you have the app you can pracise your words anywhere!
  • Liam, Melker and Emma all like  Learn English Teens where you can practise all different skills and at different levels as well. They have tried the listening and reading comprehensions and think the execises are great.
  • Mea is a fan of Childtopia where you can choose from a whole lot of different stories for kids, listen to them or read them, and finally answer some simple questions on the content. They are like flicking through real story books!
  • Ludvig and Anton A have pracised their English with the help of Read Theory. You read short texts with information about everything from smoothies to sloths and then answer multiple choice questions. You can create your own account to keep track of your progression.
  • Nellie thought Classic Fairytales was a great website. Here you can read the famous stories by the brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen.
